Coach Johnson’s Comments:  This was a nice learning weekend for a very young Jacks team.  I was pleased in the Red River game with the effort and the result.  We really set the tone in the first half.  Everyone played and contributed.  We had nice balanced scoring and rebounding.  The game was played at a pretty fast pace like most season opening games and still we only had 13 turnovers.  We would be extremely happy to continue the season at that pace.

The CMU game was a good win for us.  We played a very much improved from last season Blazer team and had to make a play at the end to win the game.  We were disappointed that we let a 15 point lead slip away but pleased with the way we finished the game.  Janae responded, as we expect a sophomore retuning starter to do, with a big game and hit the game winning basket.  Beth did a nice job of getting her the ball at the right time in the final seconds.  We got our initiation to JUCO ball and I expect us to grow from the experience.

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We were disappointed in our Bismarck State game.  We got into serious foul trouble early and they really dominated the first half.  We struggled getting into any offensive flow and didn’t shoot or handle the ball well.  Defensively we let them have too much, too easy inside.  We did work hard and had a better second half.

The Dawson game was a tail of two different teams.  We really played well in the first half.  We worked hard and applied pretty good defensive pressure at half court.  We passed the ball pretty well and ran our offense well for this early in the season.  The second half was a disaster.  We turned the ball over 21 times and played the game at a speed that was out of our control.  We had our chances at the end but they made more plays then we did in the last two minues.  We need to remember the first half and forget the second.

We played pretty well vs. United Tribes.  We set the tone early with some good defensive pressure.  Our guards put on good ball pressure and our posts did a nice job on their posts.  The offensive scoring was well balanced and we did get a number of good shots from different positions.  We still are going too fast and that has caused us to have more turnovers then what is acceptable.  That should be corrected as we get more game experience.

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  This was a disappointing weekend for us.  We felt we played about 30 minutes of good basketball and that is not enough vs. good competition.  We played well early vs. Mary and a very good 16 minutes in the second half vs. Jamestown.  Foul trouble hurt us in both games.  Janae was playing very well offensively and leading us early vs. the Marauders when she picked up her 3rd foul with about 12 minutes left in the half.  We lost some momentum and trailed by two at the half.  We picked it up and had a 10 point lead later in the second half but let that slip away.  KaDee, Janae, and Sheena each had very efficient game offensively.  Alexis had her best rebounding effort.

We really struggled in the first half vs. Jamestown.  They beat us down the court too often and their half court defense disrupted our offense.  KaDee picked up three fouls early and had to sit out.  We played very well in the second half, putting 50 points on the board and holding them to 32.  Our defense picked up and created some easy baskets.  Offensively we made better decisions and got better shots.  Janae and Beth had efficient offensive performances.  Beth’s assist to turnover ratio was excellent vs. good pressure and that’s a very positive sign.  Mandee and KaDee led us defensively in our comeback effort.

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  It was nice to pick up a couple of victories on the weekend to put us at 5-4 for the season.  The victory versus Mary was sweet as we had been beaten by them in our last weekend series in Bismarck.  We played well early and jumped off to a13 point lead in the first half but they came back and had a six point lead with slightly over two minutes remaining in the game.  We battled and made some big plays defensively and offensively.  Janae hit a big bucket and Beth hit a nice driving lay-up to cut it to one.  Mandee hit a three pointer with 20 seconds left for the game winner.  We struggled offensively for a good part of the game but some solid defensive play kept us in the contest.  The difference in the game was our 11 for 13 from the free throw line and the turnover differential.  We took good care of the ball and only had 11 turnovers while we forced 28.

We played a very good second half to get the win.  We struggled both offensively and defensively and only had a four point lead early in the second half.  Mandee’s hot shooting kept us in early as she had her 15 points at half time.  We picked up our defensive intensity and ran the floor better in the second half.  We had good balanced scoring and good scoring off the bench.  Janae had a nice game with a double-double.  We shot free throws well again with a 15 for 19 effort.  We also had 17 offensive rebounds to greatly help the cause.  Mandee and Tammany led us defensively.
Dec. 5 Dawson Bottineau 6:00 pm

December 5, 2007 Vs. Dawson Community College

Ladyjacks                   24            34            58
U of Mary JV             28            21            49

Scoring:  Brittany Westman 14, KaDee Melby 13, Janae Groninger 12, Beth Haberstroh 8, Sheena Laducer 4, Mandee Keplin 3, Tammany Walker 2, Mercedes Poitra 2, Rebounding Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 11, Brittany Westman 9, Janae Groninger 8, Assist Leaders:  , Beth Haberstroh 5, Janae Groninger 3, Steals Leaders:  Janae Groninger 4, Beth Haberstroh 3, Mandee Keplin 3, KaDee Melby 3, Blocked Shots Leaders:  Alexis Murphy 1, Mercedes Poitra 1, KaDee Melby 1

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  This was a big win for us after getting beaten by them in the pre-conference tournament.  We really struggled shooting, especially in the first half, but hung in with some solid defense.  We got things going offensively about the middle of the second half.  Brittany had an excellent night and gave us a big lift.  Mandee had an excellent defensive effort to lead us on that end of the court.  We took good care of the basketball and that was a major contributing factor in the win.  We only turned the ball over 13 times compared to Dawson’s 27 turnovers.  We played smart at the end and that was nice to see from our inexperienced group.

Dec. 9 Miles City Bottineau 2:00 pm

December 9, 2007 Vs. Miles Community College

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We were very pleased with our effort in the first half.  We worked hard and made a number of hustle plays for scores.  They made some defensive adjustments at half time that created problems for us.  They also came out hot and shot 61% from the field in the second half.  Their inside game created problems for us on both ends of the court.  We did have some nice play in the first half.  Brittany had another very efficient game for us.  Beth, Mandee, and Janae also played efficient offensively.  Mercedes gave us a boost in the post with some good offensive play.  We again took good care of the ball only turning it over 16 times versus some excellent pressure.  If we can pick up after the break as we played in the first half we will be fine.

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  It was good to get back on the court after the long Christmas break.  We definitely had some rust and it did show.  We played hard but struggled with our execution, particularly in our first game.  We were disappointed in letting a 15 point lead with about 10 minutes remaining in the game vs. Northland slip away.  Poor free throw shooting (8 of 21 for 38%), 27 turnovers, and foul trouble proved to be the recipe for defeat.  We had the ball with 5.4 seconds remaining after they had taken the lead on two free throws but came up short on a decent shot.  While we struggled as a team we did have some excellent individual efforts.  Mandee had an excellent game both offensively and defensively.  Brittany sparked us with her continued aggressive play and Alexis had her best game as a “Jack”.

We played much better in our game vs. Rainy River and got of to a good early start.  Our defensive play was much better, we won the battle of the boards, and we executed better offensively.  Alexis had another excellent night and Mercedes chipped in with a very good effort.  We got a season high total of 31 points and 16 rebounds from these two ladies at our center position.  Brittany had her second consecutive double/double and led us in rebounding for the third straight game.  Beth did a nice job of creating for her teammates and had a season high eight assists.  KaDee bounced back from a tough night vs. Northland due to foul trouble with a very good effort offensively and defensively.  Defensively our good team effort was led by Mandee’s seven steals and Janae with a high number of deflections.
Jan 10 Williston State Williston

Williston State 43 38 81
Ladyjacks 20 30 50

Scoring:  KaDee Melby 12, Mercedes Poitra 12, Mandee Keplin 9, Janae Groninger 8, Beth Haberstroh 6, Brittany Westman 3,  Rebounding Leaders:  Brittany Westman 6, KaDee Melby 6, Assist Leaders:  Beth Haberstroh 3, Janae Groninger 2,  Steals Leaders:  KaDee Melby 4, Mandee Keplin 3, Blocked Shots Leaders:  KaDee Melby 1

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We played a pretty decent 16 minutes, the first eight of each half, but that is not enough against a quality team like Williston.  We played short handed with the loss of Alexis and with Janae being in early foul trouble.  We took pretty good care of the basketball but struggled offensively shooting the ball.  Defensively we gave up to many uncontested shots.  KaDee had an excellent night from the free throw line going 10 of 12 and Mecedes played well offensively inside.  Beth, KaDee, and Mercedes all had efficient offensive games.

Jan 12 Winnipeg Swoosh Bottineau 1:00 pm

Ladyjacks 42 46 88
Swoosh 18 24 42

Scoring:  KaDee Melby 23, Janae Groninger 17, Brittany Westman 16, Mercedes Poitra 12, Mandee Keplin 9, Beth Haberstroh 6, Tammany Walker 5, Kelly Savage 1, Rebounding Leaders:  Mercedes Poitra 11, Mandee Keplin 8, KaDee Melby 7, Assist Leaders:  Janae Groninger 5, KaDee Melby 4, Beth Haberstroh 3, Brittany Haberstroh 3, Steals Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 8, KaDee Melby 3, Brittany Westman 3, Blocked Shots Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 2

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  It was good to pick up the win and I was very happy with the way we shared the basketball.  We had 12 assists in the first half and that got us going.  We shot well, 51% for the field, 39% from the three point line, and 76% from the free throw line.  We did get a little sloppy with our ball handling and committed 25 turnovers.  Defensively we again permitted to many uncontested shots and to much penetration.  Mandee did a nice job leading us defensively with eight steals.  It was good to see a number of players in double digit scoring for balance, and it was nice to see Mercedes with the double/double effort.

Jan 16 Winnipeg Swoosh Winnipeg 6:00 pm

Swoosh 25 31 56

Scoring:  Mandee Keplin 15, KaDee Melby 14, Brittany Westman 12,  Mercedes Poitra 10, Janae Groninger 8, Beth Haberstroh 5, Kelly Savage 2 Rebounding Leaders:  Brittany Westman 10, Tammany Walker 8, Mandee Keplin 8, Beth Haberstroh 7, Assist Leaders:  Janae Groninger 5,  Tammany Walker 4, Steals Leaders:  KaDee Melby 5, Mandee Keplin 3, Blocked Shots Leaders:  KaDee Melby 1. Janae Groninger 1, Mercedes Poitra 1

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We really came out ready to play and jumped out to a 28-5 lead.  We shot the ball well and again had balanced scoring with four people in double figures.  We out rebounded the Swoosh by 13 and that was big.  We lost Mercedes in the first half with a sprained ankle and after that we seemed to lose out sharpness in the second half.  Over all we had a very good team effort.

Jan. 17 CMU Winnipeg 6:00 pm

Ladyjacks 43 40 83
CMU 29 23 52

Scoring:  Brittany Westman 22, KaDee Melby 15, Janae Groninger 15, Mandee Keplin 13, Beth Haberstroh 12, Tammany Walker 4, Kelly Savage 2, Rebounding Leaders:  KaDee Melby 14, Brittany Westman 12, Assist Leaders:  Beth Haberstroh 6, KaDee Melby 6, Steals Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 2, Tammany Walker 2, Brittany Westman 2, Blocked Shots Leaders:  KaDee Melby 3, Janae Groninger 3, Mandee Keplin 2

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  This was our best effort of the week.  We shot very well from the field and the free throw line.  We did turn the ball over too many times but it was an extremely physical game.  We again did a better job on the boards out rebounding CMU by 12.  We had balanced scoring again and excellent double/double efforts from Brittany and KaDee.  Mandee and Tammany did a nice job defensively holding McCullough to 8 points as she had 28 in our previous meeting.  I was very proud of the effort on both ends of the court by everyone, especially with our two centers on the sidelines with injuries.

Jan. 18 Red River Winnipeg 6:00 pm

Ladyjacks 33 35 68
Red River 26 23 49

Scoring:  KaDee Melby 18, Brittany Westman 17, Mercedes Poitra 11, Mandee Keplin 10, Janae Groninger 5, Kelly Savage 3, Beth Haberstroh 2, Tammany Walker 2, Rebounding Leaders:  Janae Groninger 9, KaDee Melby 7, Assist Leaders:  Brittany Westman 4, KaDee Melby 4, Steals Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 3, Mercedes Poitra 3, Blocked Shots Leaders:  KaDee Melby 1, Janae Groninger 1, Mandee Keplin 1, Mercedes Poitra 1, Kelly Savage 1

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We really seemed tired in this game and struggled for a good portion of the contest.  We held a slim four point lead with about seven minutes remaining but got things going at the end.  We shot the ball well from the field but struggled from the free throw line.  We did a better job of taking care of the basketball and had a +2 rebounding advantage.  Brittany and KaDee both had very efficient games offensively.  Mandee, Tammany, and Beth did a nice job defensively on their perimeter but we need to tighten up our “D” inside the paint.  Janae did a nice job on the boards and it was good to get Mercedes back on the court.  She had a very productive 12 minutes of play scoring 11 points while getting 5 rebounds and 3 steals in that time.

Jan. 30 Lake Region Bottineau 6:00 pm

Lake Region            43            29            72

Scoring:  KaDee Melby 13, Brittany Westman 10, Mercedes Poitra 8, Beth Haberstroh 6, Mandee Keplin 4, Janae Groninger 3, Tammany Walker 3, Kelly Savage 2, Alexis Murphy 2, Rebounding Leaders:  KaDee Melby 6, Mandee Keplin 6, Mercedes Poitra 6, Assist Leaders:  Janae Groninger 3,  Tammany Walker 2, Beth Haberstroh 2, Steals Leaders:  Tammany Walker 3, Mandee Keplin 3, Blocked Shots Leaders:  Brittany Westman 2, Janae Groninger 1, Mercedes Poitra 1

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  Lake Region played well and shot the ball very well in the first half.  They were 7 of 11 from the three point line and shot 57% for the first half.  We had trouble finding them in transition and allowed too many uncontested shots.  We made a nice comeback in the second half and cut the lead to 9 but couldn’t get any closer.  They played well defensively and held us to 29% shooting.  Their size around the basket really effected us offensively.
Jan. 31 Bismarck State Bottineau 6:00 pm

Bismarck State          46            42            88
Ladyjacks                   34            26            60

Scoring:  Brittany Westman 18, KaDee Melby 13, Alexis Murphy 9, Mercedes Poitra 8, Mandee Keplin 7, Janae Groninger 3, Tammany Walker 2, Rebounding Leaders:  KaDee Melby 14, Brittany Westman 12, Assist Leaders:  Mercedes Poitra 6, Mandee Keplin 4, Steals Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 2, Tammany Walker 2, Brittany Westman 2, Blocked Shots Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 7, KaDee Melby 3, Janae Groninger 3

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We ran into another hot shooting team as Bismarck shot 53% on the night.  Our lack of transition defense hurt us for the second straight night.  We struggled with the three pointer again on both ends of the court.  They shot a hot 7 of 13 in the first half while we were 1 of 10.  We worked hard and played well defensively when we were in a half court set but again allowed too many uncontested shots in transition.  We won the battle of taking care of the ball with 20 turnovers to their 31 but we were really beaten on the boards.  They out rebounded us by 26.  Brittany had a nice, efficient game offensively, while Mandee and KaDee led us defensively.
Feb 2 NDSCS Bottineau 1:00 pm

NDSCS                  41            45            86

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  NDSCS really came out aggressively defensively and gave us trouble with their pressure, especially in the first half.  We also had difficulty defending their post game.  We came out and played fairly well in the second half and did cut into the half time lead.  Our rebounding and ball handling was considerably better in the last 20 minutes.  Brittany had another nice game and is quietly developing into our most consistent offensive scorer.  She has also done a nice job on the boards.  Consistency in many areas is what we need to find in our remaining four weeks before tournament play.  Our team still seems to be searching for its identity.

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  This was a huge victory for us vs. a quality team and a big win for us vs. MonDak Conference competition.  We played very well on both ends of the court.  Defensively we thought we gave good help in the post area, defended their perimeter scorers pretty well, and did a decent job on the boards.  Mandee and Janae led an all around solid team defensive effort.  Offensively we felt we played with improved execution and control.  We hit a number of big shots, especially from the three point line.  Janae shot well and Mandee and Alexis each hit some big shots down the stretch.  Brittany had another solid offensive performance.  We had a 22-1 run to end the game which solidified the victory.

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  This was a big win for us in regard to Region XIII standings.  We played well, especially offensively.  We shot the ball well from the three point line going 14 of 29.  I was extremely happy with the selfless play of the entire team.  We shared the ball well.  Our perimeter defense was pretty good but we did have some trouble with the T-Birds inside game and rebounding.  KaDee, Alexis, and Brittany each had very efficient nights offensively scoring 24 points on 13 attempts, 14 points on 9 attempts, and 16 points on 13 attempts respectively.  Mandee had another solid defensive effort to lead us on that end of the court and KaDee and Alexis were very active with four steals each.  We seem to be playing with more confidence and with better execution lately.  Hopefully we can continue this type of play through our tough remaining schedule and Region XIII play.
Feb. 13 NDSCS Wahpeton 6:00 pm

NDSCS                      30            44            74
Ladyjacks                 27            33            60

Scoring:  Brittany Westman 15, Mandee Keplin 10, KaDee Melby 8, Alexis Murphy 8, Janae Groninger 8, Beth Haberstroh 5, Mercedes Poitra 4, Tammany Walker 2, Rebounding Leaders:  KaDee Melby 6, Mercedes Poitra 6, Mandee Keplin 5, Brittany Westman 5, Assist Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 4, KaDee Melby 3, Steals Leaders:  Brittany Westman 5, Beth Haberstroh 3, Janae Groninger 3, Blocked Shots Leaders:  Alexis Murphy 2

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We played considerably better then in our first game vs. NDSCS.  We felt we missed some good opportunities in the first half and that we could have gone in a halftime with the lead.  They are a very good pressure defensive team, and in spite of our 24 turnovers I thought we were much stronger with the ball.  They beat us in transition often the first time but we did a better job of containing that in this game.  We shot the ball well from the three point line again, 36%, and that is a good sign.  We need to hit that shot to open our inside game.  While we don’t like losing, we did feel pretty good about our effort.

Lake Region              31            49            80
Ladyjacks                  27            28            55

Scoring:  KaDee Melby 15, Brittany Westman 10, Mandee Keplin 9, Janae Groninger 9, Alexis Murphy 6, Beth Haberstroh 6, Rebounding Leaders:  KaDee Melby 10, Tammany Walker 4, Assist Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 4, KaDee Melby 2, Steals Leaders:  Brittany Westman 2, Beth Haberstroh 2, Blocked Shots Leaders:  KaDee Melby 2

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We played a very good first half and kept the tempo where we needed it to be.  We rebounded pretty well in that half and the turnovers were even.  We scored the first basket of the second half to cut the lead to 31-30 but they took over from that point on.  They started to dominate the boards and got their running game going.  That coupled with some excellent three point shooting was the difference.  I thought we did some things very well in the first but just ran out of gas in the second.  We did shoot pretty well from the three point line again with a 7-21 showing and shot extremely well from the free line going 11-12.  KaDee had an excellent night with a double/double.

United Tribes                        27            36            63

Scoring:  Janae Groninger 21, Alexis Murphy 17, Brittany Westman 9, Beth Haberstroh 8, KaDee Melby 7, Mercedes Poitra 4, Mandee Keplin 4, Rebounding Leaders:  Brittany Westman 8, KaDee Melby 8, Tammany Walker 7, Assist Leaders:  Beth Haberstroh 9, Janae Groninger 4,  Steals Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 4, Beth Haberstroh 3,  Blocked Shots Leaders:  None

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  This was a good win for us in regard to Region XIII standings.  We struggled some offensively against their defense and seemed to have trouble getting into a good flow.  We shot the ball fairly well but didn’t get to the free throw line enough.  Janae and Lexi shot the ball well for us, especially from the three point line.  Defensively we didn’t think we were as sharp as we need to be as a team.
Feb. 20 Bismarck State Bismarck 6:00 pm

Scoring:  KaDee Melby 18, Janae Groninger 13, Brittany Westman 8, Mandee Keplin 8, Alexis Murphy 4, Mercedes Poitra 3, Beth Haberstroh 2, Rebounding Leaders:  KaDee Melby 7, Alexis Murphy 7,  Assist Leaders:  Janae Groninger 2, KaDee Melby 2, Beth Haberstroh 2, Steals Leaders:  Mandee Keplin 3, Blocked Shots Leaders:  None

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We really never got out of the gate in this race.  We gave up way to many points, especially in the first half.  They hurt us in transition and in the post.  They shot 71% in the first half, as they really out executed us.  We struggled offensively also, shooting 23% for the game.  We tried to do too much off the dribble too quickly and that led to a lot of standing around.  We need to regroup with the Region XIII tournament in 10 days.
Feb. 23 Miles City Miles City, MT 7:00 pm*

Miles CC                     40            48            88
Ladyjacks                   16            6            22

Scoring:  KaDee Melby 10, Brittany Westman 4, Janae Groninger 3, Alexis Murphy 3, Beth Haberstroh 2, Rebounding Leaders:  Brittany Westman 5, KaDee Melby 5, Assist Leaders:  Janae Groninger 1, Brittany Westman 1, Alexis Murphy 1, Tammany Walker 1,  Steals Leaders:  KaDee Melby 2,  Blocked Shots Leaders:  Alexis Murphy 1, Tammany Walker 1

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We suffered our worst defeat in some time to an outstanding Miles CC team that is presently ranked #15 in the NJCAA Division I.  We started playing pretty well and trailed 17-14 with about 8 minutes left in the first half.  From that point on it was all Miles CC.  We played short handed with two key players not being able to make the trip with us.  That hurt our overall play and our depth.  Shooting 9% from the field in the second half and 18% for the game didn’t help matters either.
Feb. 24 Dawson Glendive, MT 2:00 pm*

Dawson CC               35            45            80
Ladyjacks                   27            35            62

Scoring:  Alexis Murphy 15, KaDee Melby 14, Janae Groninger 11, Brittany Westman 11, Beth Haberstroh 5, Tammany Walker 5,  Rebounding Leaders:  Alexis Murphy 9, KaDee Melby 8, Brittany Westman 7, Assist Leaders:  Janae Groninger 3, Brittany Westman 3, Steals Leaders:  KaDee Melby 4, Beth Haberstroh 3, Brittany Westman 3, Blocked Shots Leaders:  Brittany Westman 3, Alexis Murphy 2

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  We really started slow in this game and dug a hole we couldn’t get out of.  We made a number of good runs throughout the game and had the deficit to four points a number of times but couldn’t get any closer.  Our lack of depth hurt us again, especially as we were in foul trouble throughout the game.  We didn’t shoot the ball very well again, going 34% from the field and 51% from the line.  Alexis had a very good offensive game for us and that’s good to see heading into tournament play.
Mar. 1-2 Region XIII Tournament Ironwood, MI TBA

Gogebic                      35            40            75
Ladyjacks                   28            45            73

Scoring:  Brittany Westman 29, KaDee Melby 18, Alexis Murphy 11, Janae Groninger 6, Beth Haberstroh 5, Tammany Walker 4, Rebounding Leaders:  Brittany Westman 15, KaDee Melby 12, Alexis Murphy 9,  Assist Leaders: Not available, Steals Leaders:  Tammany Walker 2, Beth Haberstroh 2, Blocked Shots Leaders:  None

Coach Johnson’s Comments:  I was very proud of our effort and the way we came back after trailing early.  We got down 20-5 during the first eight minutes.  We seemed to be playing too anxious and fast, more to their tempo.  We also had to battle foul trouble and the fact that we were somewhat short handed on the trip.  Everything seemed like a struggle early, but we hung in and battled our way back in the game.  We got things going offensively in the latter part of the first half and had an excellent second half.  We trailed the entire game and never had the lead but tied the game with 5 seconds left on a free throw by Brittany.  They got the rebound on her second free throw attempt and called a time out with 4.3 seconds remaining.  Jaclyn Aijala took the ball the length of the court and threw up a runner off the back board at the buzzer for the game winning basket for the Lady Samsons.  We had some excellent team play offensively and some outstanding individual efforts.  Brittany had her best game of the season scoring 29 points, contributing 15 rebounds, and getting to the line 12 times.  KaDee had an outstanding second half scoring all of her 18 points in the last 20 minutes.  She also had a double/double.  Alexis was one short of a double/double and really helped us stay close in the first half scoring 9 of her 11 points.  We did a nice job on the boards, out rebounding Gogebic 54 to 44.  We were disappointed obviously in the defeat, but couldn’t feel badly about the excellent team effort.
