Admissions

MSU-Bottineau is an open admissions institution.  Applicants who are high school graduates or have completed the Tests of General Education Development (GED) and have submitted the required information are generally admitted.  Individuals who have not completed high school or completed their GED may be accepted to certain career-technical programs. For more detailed information about our admission policies refer to our college catalog.

1. Apply for admission by submitting the following information:

  • Application for admission and $35.00 nonrefundable application fee
  • The admissions application is available by choosing one of the following options:
  • Print a paper application (PDF)
  • Apply online. You will be linked to the ConnectND  website. Please read the Prospective Student information on the right side of the page. Then go to the "Obtain a User Account" in the upper left of the page.

Call us at 1-800-542-6866 and we will mail you an application packet.

Official transcript from an accredited or state-approved high school or GED report. Transfer students also need to submit official transcripts of all previous academic work from each institution attended.

Results from the American College Test (ACT). The results will be used for advisement and research purposes. ACT results are not required for applicants who have completed 24 or more semester (36 quarter) hours of transferable credit or for applicants who are 25 years of age or older on their first day of class.

MSU-Bottineau's ACT school code is 3204.

Evidence of immunization against measles, mumps and rubella.  You may use the MSU-Bottineau Student Immunization Record.

2. Apply for Housing

All full-time unmarried students under the age of 21 who do not have dependents residing with them are required to live and board in college housing. Students who live at home with their parents or legal guardians and commute to school are exempt.

You will receive your housing contract in the mail after you have been accepted for admission.

3.  Apply for Financial Aid

To apply for state and federal financial aid you must complete the FAFSA and list Minot State University-Bottineau (Federal School Code 002995). The deadline is March 15.
