The Cultural Diversity Committee for MSU-Bottineau plans to continue Brown Bag seminars again in 2005-2006.  The first to be held was Polynesian Culture and Geology of Hawaiian Islands.  Four more for November, January, February and April are being planning.  And further information is forth coming.

In February, coinciding with Smokey’s Week, we will conducting the annual Diversity Week activities with this year’s focus being with women’s and gender issues affecting learning and work environments for women in particular.  Several presentations are now in the planning stage.

The major focus for the Committee in 2005-2006 is the development of the NDUS Diversity Council Climate Survey to be completed by all NDUS member institutions.  The local committee has reviewed and made suggestions for changes to the 2nd draft of the survey.  In January, the committee members, along with fellow members of NDUS institutions will review the final draft and the Survey is scheduled to go online the week of February 13 and surveys will be accepted for 2 weeks.
