Library Director
  Full–time, 10 month appointment

Job Description:  Support members of an academic community, such as students, faculty and staff, by managing, organizing, evaluating and disseminating the information they need.  Teach information retrieval skills to students and staff, either within a classroom or within a virtual learning environment.  Typical tasks include selecting, acquiring, cataloguing and classifying information, training and updating library staff and patrons, and managing a budget, staff and resources, ranging from websites to journals and books (paper and electronic) to physical facilities.  Participation in campus committee work and assessment activities.

Qualifications Required:  Library media I credential.  Evidence of successful work experiences in a school setting.  Commitment to a collegial working environment.  Effective written and oral communication skills.  Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.

Qualifications Preferred:  Doctorate or master’s degree or evidence of intention to earn a master’s degree in three years.  Experience in grant writing, administration, library work, teaching and use of assessment data for improvement.

Salary:  Open, depending on experience.

Starting Date:  January 5, 2009

CAREGIVER SERVICES
ONLINE INSTRUCTOR/PROGRAM COORDINATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION: Develop and teach early childhood courses in the A.A.S. degree in Caregiver Services.  Course instruction involves teaching online.  Manage both the Child Caregiver and the Adult Caregiver options of the program.  Work with an advisory committee to ensure relevance of the curriculum to employer needs and job opportunities.  Collaborate with state and national agencies to incorporate industry standards into the program curriculum. Promote the program through networking, marketing, and reporting.  Participate in curricular advising of students. Curriculum development, outcomes assessment, student recruitment, institutional committee work, community service, and outreach activities are inherent to the position. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or similar degree program.  Evidence of successful teaching experience.  Eligibility for or intent to earn vocational certification.  Commitment to a collegial working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Master’s degree in early childhood education or similar degree program Instructional experience in distance education media.  Experience in the use of assessment data for program improvement.

SALARY: Open, depending on academic preparation and past teaching experience.

ADVERTISING AND MARKETING INSTRUCTOR
Full-time, 9-month

JOB DESCRIPTION: Teach a variety of business-related subjects appropriate for an A.A.S. degree in marketing.  Coordinate instruction between Bottineau and Minot.  Supervise marketing coop students.  Advise a student organization.  Participate in curricular advising. Curriculum development, outcomes assessment, student recruitment, institutional committee work, community service, and outreach activities are inherent to the position.  Course instruction will involve teaching via interactive video network (IVN).  Volleyball and football coaching positions are available as optional add-ons for interested applicants.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related business field.  Evidence of successful teaching experience.  Commitment to a collegial working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Master’s degree in marketing or a related field or evidence of intention to earn a master’s degree in three years.  Eligibility for or intent to earn vocational certification.  Instructional experience in distance education media.  A background in career and technical education is desirable.  Experience in the use of assessment data for program improvement.

SALARY: Open, depending on academic preparation and past teaching experience.

Custodial Opening
MSU-Bottineau

Description:  Performing custodial work required for the routine cleaning and upkeep of Gross and Milligan Hall.  Includes moving furniture and equipment, and performing other related custodial duties such as scrubbing, mopping and sweeping floors; cleaning, renovating and renewing floor surface finishes; cleaning windows, walls, woodwork and washrooms; cleaning and dusting furnishings; shoveling snow.

Minimum Qualifications:  Elementary knowledge of the materials, equipment and methods used in the cleaning and upkeep of buildings, ability to perform cleaning work; knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school; ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to work independently after instructions; ability to perform physical labor necessary to perform the duties of the position; and enthusiasm and willingness to perform all facets of custodial services as described above.

Qualifications Preferred:  One-year custodial experience.

Hours:  8am – 4:30pm
